Abbey Sheikh MSW LICSW
Over the past two decades, I have been fortunate to work in different settings and environments, treating individuals, families and groups with a variety of different conditions and presentations. This experience has enabled me to understand and believe that the individual has the ability to make positive change. Throughout my professional experience I have always provided a safe environment and a relationship with individuals based on trust, respect and unconditional positive regard. One of my aims is to enable you to freely and honestly express your emotions, feelings and concerns.
Together we can become aware of what may and what may not be working in your life. My approach is based on the belief that the individual has the ability to develop life skills, strategies and resources that are simple, achievable and sustainable.
Collaboratively, we work towards exploring your current issues, thoughts and emotions, including where they may have originated. Through awareness and understanding, we target empowerment with the choice to do things differently, in ways that feel achievable to you.
